Composites Based on Post-Industrial Wood Plastic Waste and Ultrasonic Treated Muscovite

In this work muscovite was ultrasonically treated to obtain composites with post-industrial wood plastic residues. The ultrasonicated for 30 or 60 min and mixed the polymeric matrix at a constant level of 15% (weight percentage). were prepared in single-screw extruder formed into flat films characterization. SEM images revealed occurrence delamination, while particle size distribution results suggested decrease longer sonication time. FTIR spectra also indicated delamination material. exhibited slight increase density large impact resistance samples muscovite. XRD alignment mineral matrix. indicate that ultrasonication is an effective method improve interaction dispersion waste composites.
